The Easter Bunny made an early delivery to MaPaw and he brought us Keno. This charming 6 year old blue-eyed boy began life as a beloved family pet. Then the family dynamics changed and he was banished outside where he spent the next four years on a chain in the backyard, living under the deck. After a year’s effort a Good Samaritan convinced the owner to surrender him, but by that time she was in no position to keep a pet so he came to MaPaw.
It is time for Keno to begin a winning streak. He quickly made friends with his new canine buddies and enjoys romping in the back yard. He is particularly fond of coming in and out the door. He is friendly with women and men, but you can see his energy level kick up a notch when the guys are around – he barks and bounces - c’mon guys lets PLAY!
Keno is reportedly good with children, but not cats or other small critters. He is clean and hasn’t chewed anything. Will go into the crate for a cookie and settles down after a bit. We let him upstairs with everyone last night and he did fine. He will gain a few pounds before getting heartworm treatment and being neutered. By summer this outgoing friendly boy, who frequently vocalizes his pleasure at how things have changed for the better, will be ready for a forever home.
UPDATE: Keno has completed his heartworm treatment and has been vet-checked as good as new! He will be neutered in the next few weeks and will be ready to finally find a family and home to call his own. Let's keep Keno's winning streak going ~ is he the one for you??
