Good Bye Good Friend
Animals and people alike lost a dear friend recently. Edie Huggins (Miss
Edie) passed away after a long battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy
of caring for the people, community, and animals that she served for so
many years.
MaPaw had the distinct pleasure of working with Miss Edie on many
occasions to help share the stories of our wonderful rescue huskies.
The first time we had a story that we wanted to share with the news media,
about Timber, a blind husky, who had been abandoned in a field, Edie was
on the phone with us saying that she wanted the story before Timber's
transport was even completed!
She laughed happily when she shared with us that her editor just rolled his
eyes whenever a story about an animal landed on her desk.
Thank you Edie...there are a lot of fuzzy angels
waiting to welcome you!
