Calvin is a handsome 14-month old Siberian with a gorgeous deep red coat who enjoys all the attention he can get! He fancies himself as a lap dog and loves to climb into any available lap to tell you all about his day. Calvin would be thrilled to go to a forever home with another dog to play with. He also loves children who can tolerate his typical young Siberian rough-and-tumble play.
Calvin is a real trooper and his patience and sweet demeanor have endeared him to us all. He came into rescue in the fall of last year with entropion in both eyes – a condition that caused his eyelids to roll in and rub against his eyes. He was also suffering from demodactic mange (demodex), which is not contagious. His prior owners had turned him to a shelter when he was just six months old.
Calvin had the necessary surgery to correct his eyes and was a sweetheart during the medicated baths and medication for demodex and this boy is now recovered and ready to make up for lost time! It is possible that future outbreaks of demodex may occur and any interested adopter should research demodex and contact us to discuss.
Calvin has been such a patient and sweet boy and is ready to find his forever home. He is wonderful with adults, kids and dogs his size, but no cats or small pets please! If you are ready for commitment and a lifetime best friend, Calvin could be the one for you!
