Bravo is a happy and playful black and white Siberian Husky puppy with warm brown eyes who thinks he is on top of the world. Although he acts and plays like a typical Siberian pup, he does have cataracts and some impaired vision in both eyes.
This certainly has not slowed Bravo down, who greets everyone as his new best friend and loves to hang out and beg for belly rubs. Bravo is on the small side for a Siberian Husky and this is certainly a good thing since he fancies himself as a lap dog! This very affectionate pup will win you over and be sharing your lap before you know it!
Bravo is wonderful with kids and dogs, though he has to try very hard at being patient when a fur-friend is getting the attention and he has to wait his turn. He is crate trained and working hard on his housebreaking.
Bravo's most recent trip to the University of Penn brought optimistic news. His cataracts do not appear to be progressing rapidly at this time, but require close monitoring for any change. Bravo's sight is estimated to be approximately 85% in the right eye and 60% in the left eye. Congenital cataracts typically continue to progress, but this progression could be extremely slow or extremely fast.
Bravo will not have surgery at this time at the recommendation of the University of Penn and will be re-examined in four months pending maturation of his eyes. It is extremely important that Bravo's caregiver be vigilant not only with the daily administration of his eye drops, but also with daily examinations to determine if any inflammation is present. If so, Bravo will need to be examined immediately.
Bravo is available for adoption to a home that can provide his daily care. Other than the eye drops and examination, this playful pup does not require special needs and is a delight to have around. Should any future surgery be required, MaPaw will be available for financial assistance and support.
