Shelter Dogs 

Teeko is a sweet, 2 year old, neutered male Husky. Poor Teeko suffers from severe separation anxiety. Both of his former families tried so hard to deal with his anxiety but it was just too overwhelming. Teeko is wonderful in every other way. He just needs a home with a large family so that someone is home with him at all times. He is much too young to settle for life in a shelter. Teeko is up to date on shots, microchipped, housebroken and already altered. All he needs now is an understanding, patient and above all...a home body to love him. If you are that "special" person who could make Teeko one of the family.

More About Rocky & Jezebel:

The Society received a tearful phone call from a Waretown, NJ resident who had just discovered that he was terminally ill and needed to put his affairs in order. The top priority on his list was Jezebel and Rocky -- his two best friends. They had been adopted from the Society and he was concerned about their future. Society staffer allayed his fears and his two well mannered, sweet and very affectionate dogs were brought to the Forked River Shelter.

Jezebel is 2 and Rocky is 4 -- young enough to be fantastic and friendly members in a new home and a new life. They are both extremely sweet and affectionate. Both are housebroken friendly and love each other so we need to keep them together. Jezebel does not like small animals, but she and Rocky are inseparable. If interested please visit our Forked River Shelter. We are open:

Mon. – Fri. from 12:00 P. M. - 6:00 P. M.; and Sat. & Sun. 12:00 P. M. – 5:00 P. M.for directions call 609-693-1900.

There is an adoption donation required. The society cannot accept personal checks but we do accept Visa, MC, AE, and cash. As part of our adoption process, we must have proof of residency. Homeowners must show proof of ownership; landlord approval is required for renters before an adoption can be approved.And as always we thank you for your kindness in opening your heart & home to a Society orphan.

Laura-64045 - Siberian Husky Mix - From: Associated Humane Societies-Newark - Newark, NJ

Poor Laura..she was picked up as a stray running loose in a nearby park..she waited and waited but no one ever came to claim her as their own. She has been here since August and we need to find her a permanent home as soon as we can. Laura is a beautiful mix of Shepherd/Husky which comes through in her eyes. Laura has one brown and one blue eye which makes her that much more irresistible. She is up to date on shots, housebroken and will be altered and microchipped upon adoption. This is Bear, a 1 year old very sweet Husky. He was kept mostly in the yard so we dont know for sure how he is with other animals. He is very well mannered and always displays great behavior. The other dogs near him in the kennel do not seem to bother him.

Tess is a 2 year old, spayed Shepherd Husky mix. Tess is very bouncy and excited to meet people. So much so that she forgets her manners. Tess is very food motivated and works well for treats. Help Tess remember by showing her a treat and asking her to sit before petting her. She is a confident girl who loves to play with tennis balls and squeaky toys. She is always willing to play a game of fetch and brings them right back for the game to continue. She needs a clear leader and lots of directions. Tess would do best in a home with adults and teens who want an active companion. She would need to meet a new canine buddy prior to going into a new home.

Cody - Siberian Husky - From: Animal Welfare League of Frederick County - Frederick, MD

 

Cody is a sweet boy who has known a lot of love in his 1.5 years of life. He has been with the same family since puppy-hood, but because of schedule changes they're looking for a loving home for him with someone who's able to spend more time with him.  

Cody is a very friendly boy who loves everyone he meets. He's housebroken and will bark at the door when he needs to go out. He is also crate trained. And while he enjoys meandering in his back yard, he doesn't stay out for long periods of time. He really is a people dog and just wants to be with his humans.

Cody's had no formal obedience classes but he's a smart boy. He knows “sit”, “give me 5”, and “paw”. He hasn't had a lot of interaction with other dogs, but seems okay with them when he encounters them on walks. Cody hasn't lived with cats either but we think he might chase them. Cody loves to run and play and is very affectionate and would do wonderful in an active, loving home.
