shilo
Shilo, when I was young
I used to call your
name
When no one else would
come
Shilo, you always came
And
we'd play
-Neil Diamond
Shilo
is a sweet, young male Siberian who came into rescue very
frightened and we are happy to report that our boy is starting
to come out of his shell. The vet estimates him to be
under two years and Shilo is learning to act like the pup
he is. He likes to play “catch me if you can” and
will run up within a foot of you, play bow and run. Of course,
Shilo is a typical Siberian and cannot be expected to come
whenever called, but he does love to be around you and play.
He must always be in a fenced-in area or on leash as he can
be an escape artist.
If you are looking for a special friend and can
provide the love and trust this guy needs, please contact
us for more information.

Pebbles
Pebbles is a beautiful four year old female Siberian looking for
a home full of love. She is a very sweet dog that suffered some
type of abuse most likely by a man. She responds very positively
to woman and will need a home sensitive to her fears.
Pebbles rides well in the car, loves the snow and
just wants to be a pet with a human to call her own. She would be
ideal for a woman with a fence-in yard and looking for a best friend.

Herc
Herc, strong and willful like his namesake, is
an active pup born in August 2002. He has bouts of puppy happiness
where he zooms all around very quickly. He weighs in at 75 pounds
and is a Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute that found himself homeless
due to a family illness. He is currently located in the suburban
Philadelphia area.
Herc LOVES to play and also to play fetch. He
also likes playing with a soccer ball. He enjoys lying around in
the house on his dog bed after he's exercised. He loves to go for
leash walks - although he pulls (no surprise) - he is very inquisitive
about everything he sees. He is sweet and affectionate and gives
kisses although a little roughly at times. He can also be mouthy
at times when playing and he is quick with his body movements. Given
his power an adult only home is preferred with a fenced in yard
where he can romp. Crate trained and housebroken. Experience with
the breed a plus as he is willful. Herc would probably do well with
a young female companion dog that is his size or a little smaller
(no tiny dogs please). Continuing his obedience training will be
mandatory. He thrives on human attention and learns quickly with
consistency. He likes belly rubs and resting his head between your
knees. Other areas he needs work on is counter surfing (he's gotten
better with this), walking on leash without pulling or weaving,
jumping up on people and grabbing their hands to play (he is getting
better with this
Herc is ready for a new leash on life… As
a puppy he lived outside and slept in a garage and did not learn
as much as he should have during his early months. He’s catching
up now and needs a home that will nurture and continue train him
to be the perfect pet he has the potential to be.

Chester
Strong, Silent Type
Chester is a seven-year-old Siberian with possibly some Malamute
mixed him. He weighs in at a solid 90 pounds and is diluted black
and white with blue eyes. He is currently located in the suburban
Philadelphia area.
Chester gets along with other large dogs. He is low-keyed but playful
when he is in the mood. He is great on a leash and loves to take
long walks. He can be protective over his food. Chester should not
be in a home with cats, small dogs or small pets. Because of his
large size we prefer an adult only home.
Chester has been in rescue for two years. He has been a trooper
and a patient boy, but it is time for him to find his forever home.
He would be perfect for a single man or sibe-savvy couple looking
for a walking companion and new best friend.

Jasmine
R.I.P.
Jasmine came into rescue as a one-eyed beauty.
When she was small a cat injured her eye. Poor Jas did not get the
vet attention she so badly needed and finally, she lost the eye. Once
in rescue we discovered she is epileptic and suffers periodic seizures,
which are in large part controlled by medication. Jasmine is constantly
supervised and rarely left alone, never for long periods of time.
As with most special needs patients, she is the sweetest girl and
is truly special.
On October 29, 2005 Jasmine started her final journey North of the Rainbow Bridge. Our darling, brave girl has earned her silver harness and is now watching over all of us with both eyes bright and clear. She is sorely missed and we are all better for knowing her. She will remain in our hearts forever. God Speed Jasmine, we love you. |
