Cochise

SHASTA

Shasta is an eight year old Siberian Husky/German Shepherd mix who just wants a place to call her own where she can curl up with a friend and perhaps take a walk or two.

This is a sad tale.  Shasta’s mommy had to move from her home and although it broke her heart, she could not take her constant companion with her.  In tears, she contacted us and begged our help to find a safe haven for this middle-aged girl she loved so much.

Shasta entered rescue uprooted and confused but after the first day or two she started to trust her new foster family.  She is trustworthy in the house and low-keyed, however, does enjoy exploring her foster’s fenced-in yard and going for walks.  Going for car rides is a special treat.  She is good with other dogs, however, she does prefer a calmer environment and we do not recommend young children.

If you are looking for a new laid-back friend that enjoys good movies and leisurely walks, Shasta could be perfect for you.

Cochise

COCHISE

This smiling Siberian is a 22-month old pup that is ready to take on the world!  Cochise was named after his foster dad’s old Indian friend and is truly a man’s dog.  Since he is still a youngster he is high energy and a clown that needs a firm hand.  He is housebroken, but will chew furniture if given the chance. This smart, athletic boy can scale smaller fences and will require a sturdy six foot or more fence to keep him safely at home with his family.

Cochise is a beautiful boy – silver and white with one brown eye and one blue.  He listens very well and is eager to please and is very people friendly.  He gets along with other dogs, however, can play very rough so he would be best with other large, energetic dogs.

Cochise needs a one on one relationship with a person who will provide a strong, loving hand where he can flourish and grow.  Please feel free to contact us for more information about this handsome boy.

STORM

Storm is a nine-month-old puppy who was born on January 31, 2005.  He is good with kids over six, however, the young children he lives with now are frightened of him.  Therefore, poor Storm is isolated and needs a home where he can be part of the family.  Storm is also good with smaller dogs in his Petsmart class.  If interested in this handsome boy, please complete our onsite application and we will be in contact with you to tell you more about him.

TASHA and DAKOTA

Dakota and Tasha were left behind when their family split in a bitter divorce and sold their house. These wonderful and loving dogs had lost their family and were left in conditions that were unsafe and lonely. They are now in foster care and looking for a new home.

Both dogs have excellent temperaments and would be fine around kids. They like hugs and have no issues around food with each other or people. They were reported to have free run of the house without issues. They are also crate trained and like staying in a kennel run when their family is at work. Dakota needs a very secure fence that is 6 feet high.

Tasha likes to play fetch and each of them has a playful attitude. Both are very strong and are getting lessons on how to walk nicely on a leash. Tasha was born in June of 2002 and Dakota in December of 2002. They are spayed and neutered and have all their shots and are heartworm negative.

It would be best if these guys can go together as they do not like to be without a doggy companion and play well together. Why not double your pleasure with these great dogs!

For more information you can contact the foster mom, Laura, at 609-268-2080 in the evenings.

Rusty

RUSTY

Hi, my name is Rusty and I am eight months old.  As you can see, I am the most handsome boy but I am still a puppy.  I didn’t realize I shouldn’t be playing in traffic and got into some real trouble when that car hit me…

Luckily, Rusty is going to be OK.  Sadly, his owner could not afford to give him the expensive care and surgery he needed and relinquished him to the emergency vet, who contacted rescue to step in.  A three state transport was quickly arranged to bring Rusty in to our rescue vet, where he has earned quite the fan club.

And during it all this sweet, sweet little boy in such pain just wanted to snuggle with his new friend and give kisses.

Rusty’s surgery is set for November 8th – please say a prayer for him – the prognosis is excellent, x-rays and blood tests are favorable and he should be good as new.

Once he has healed he will be looking for his forever home – if you are interested in this very special boy, please feel free to contact us.  This guy is a winner!

Donations are thankfully being accepted – and tax deductible - for his medical needs.

Scaredy Sibe

Dobbs

Dobbs is a tiny elf of a Siberian Husky that came from a home with many other huskies and a human daddy too ill to care for them.  Dobbie was a scared little guy with little socialization, however, he is improving by leaps and bounds!  Dobbie is still timid when first meeting new people, but quickly becomes attached and anxious for affection.  He loves his crate with his nice soft blanket and all of the bones he manages to find and hide there.  He loves other dogs and this little boy’s new best friend is Magnum, our giant Siberian of 105 pounds, and they play non-stop and will even share a crate for a quick snooze.  Dobbs is fast becoming ready for his new forever home and is going to make someone a very special, loving companion.

I need a Name

DAMIEN

Damien is the third sibling of Dobbs and Katie-Girl that came into MaPaw scared and unsocialized with the world.  From the first day, however, this frightened, little boy was greeting us with timid tail wags hoping to be friends.

Unfortunately, upon arrival at his foster home Damien managed to bolt from the car and, not knowing where he was or why, he ran into the nearby woods.  Sadly, our efforts to bring this little boy back in safe and sound to his foster home have not been successful to date.

We are continuing to locate Damien and have had many promising signs that he is remaining nearby.  Please say a prayer for our little friend and know that we are doing absolutely everything we can to bring him back as quickly as possible.

And when he does come back to his foster home, his new name will be Kimball (as in the Fugitive).  Stay tune for more updates.

Katy Girl

KATIE GIRL

Katie-Girl is the sister of Dobbs and shared a home with him and other huskies with no contact with the outside world.  She is a tiny little girl with a huge personality and quite a bit of imp in her.  Katie is making up for lost time and has quickly learned the outside world is a fun place (fenced or leashed, of course!)  She absolutely loves to go for walks and is quite certain that she is the protector of the world from squirrels, bunnies and birds.  Katie loves other dogs and has no fear – this little girl is quite comfortable play-bowing and teasing Siberians twice her size.  She is housebroken and loves her crate, however, she does want to be with you when you are home where she can receive the attention she deserves.  Katie has adapted wonderfully and she is ready to join a forever family now.  We are so proud of this little girl and are looking for that perfect home, yours perhaps.

Kiki

Kiki

KIKI

Kiki is a sweet senior of 11 years with a wonderful smile.  Kiki found herself homeless and not certain why she was at the shelter, but became very depressed.  Once in rescue, she hasn’t stopped smiling!  Kiki is something of a flirt, she is friendly to the women, but adores the men.  She is in good health and enjoys kicking up her heels and hamming for the camera.  She gets along well with other dogs and is a gentle girl, except for going to the vet which frightens her.   She is a creature of comfort and enjoys the luxury of the soft couch.

We love the seniors, they make wonderful companions.  Adoption fees are adjusted accordingly.

Timber

TIMBER

Timber is a very affectionate freckle-face boy ready to move right into your home and your heart.  This seven-ish year old’s family moved and left him behind in the backyard.  He is very people friendly and wants to be at your side whenever possible.  He walks well on a leash (especially for a husky) and is good with kids. Timber makes friends with kids and adults wherever he goes.  He loves car rides, but doesn’t like to be left alone for long periods of time.  Timber will be best placed as an only dog where he can be a devoted family member.

Majestic

MAJESTIC

Majestic is a Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute mix that is one big teddy bear!  This 2-3 year old boy loves to snuggle and cuddle and just soaks up any attention he can get.  Majestic was rescued from a shelter where he was very sad and is now looking for someone to love.  He is settling into his foster home nicely and is enjoying his canine siblings.  He has shown a gentle nature and loves to be petted and talked to.  We can’t think of a better way to save on energy bills this winter – with that wonderful coat of fur he promises to keep you toasty warm!

Magnum

Supersize Order!! Supersize Sweatheart!!

Magnum is a giant of a husky estimated to be three years old. This lovable gray and white boy is somewhat low-key for a husky and is happiest when sleeping near you. He especially has a fondness for the kitchen floor and it's even better if you are forced to step over him or hand out a treat from time to time. He is a well behaved boy who lost his way and was found by a Good Samaritan. Magnum is crate trained and housebroken and has one of the prettiest singing voices we have ever heard! Magnum is a lean 75 pounds or so and due to this size and strength should be placed in an experienced home with no children under 16 years of age. This big guy likes to be in charge so he'll require a home with no other dogs and absolutely no cats or small pets.
